Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily A member 3 is also known as CD85 antigen-like family member E, Immunoglobulin-like transcript 6, ILT-6, Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor 4, LIR-4 and Monocyte inhibitory receptor HM43/HM31. In humans, it is encoded by the LILRA3 gene. It acts as soluble receptor for class I MHC antigens. Binds both classical and non-classical HLA class I molecules but with reduced affinities compared to LILRB1 or LILRB2.It is detected in B-cells, natural killer (NK) cells, peripheral blood monocytes and lung.
Immunoglobulin Superfamily Member 8 (IGSF8) is a single-pass membrane protein. IGSF8 contains four Ig-like C2 type domains. The Ig-like C2-type domains 3 and 4 are required for interactions with CD81. IGSF8 may regulate proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes. IGSF8 may participate in the regulation of neurite outgrowth and maintenance of the neural network in the adult brain. It also may play a role on integrin-dependent morphology and motility functions.
The IMPA1 gene product is responsible for the final step of biotransformation of inositol triphosphate and diacylglycerol, two second messengers. Despite its many physiological functions, no clinical phenotype has been assigned to this gene dysfunction to date. Additionally, IMPA1 is the main target of lithium, a drug that is at the forefront of treatment for bipolar disorder.
Inositol Monophosphatase 1 (IMPA1) belongs to the inositol monophosphatase family. IMPA1 is responsible for the provision of inositol required for synthesis of phosphatidylinositol and polyphosphoinositides, IMPA1 can use myo-inositol-1,3-diphosphate, myo-inositol-1,4-diphosphate, scyllo-inositol-phosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, glucose-6-phosphate, fructose-1-phosphate, beta-glycerophosphate, and 2-AMP as substrates. IMPA1 has been implicated as the pharmacological target for lithium action in brain. IMPA1 shows magnesium-dependent phosphatase activity and is inhibited by therapeutic concentrations of lithium. In addition, IMPA1 plays a improtant role in intracellular signal transduction.
Inositol monophosphatase 2, also known as Inositol-1(or 4)-monophosphatase 2, Myo-inositol monophosphatase A2 and IMPA2, is an enzyme which belongs to the inositol monophosphatase family. IMPA2 catalyzes the dephosphoylration of inositol monophosphate with cofactor Magnesium and Inhibited by high Li+ and restricted Mg2+ concentrations. IMPA2 plays an important role in phosphatidylinositol signaling. IMPA2 can use the myo-inositol monophosphates, scylloinositol 1,4-diphosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, beta-glycerophosphate, and 2'-AMP as substrates. IMPA2 is a pharmacological target for lithium Li(+) action in brain, it is considered to have a role in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
